Survey results
For this survey I asked more than 100 women at women&work, Germany's biggest career fair for women in Bonn, to fill out this survey.
Melanie Vogel is organising this event once a year, this year on April 25. I worked from 10am to 6pm and at the end of the day I got 84 surveys back and it was a great success. The goal for this survey was to find out how women are feeling about the questions below. And here are the results: |
Question #1:
Do you feel that women are paid equally to men? The results for the first question are: 14% are those women wo crossed yes and we can suggest they get paid equally. The other 86% think that women and men are not paid equally. We can suggest that these women are in high risk to be unsatisfied and that they don't feel loyal regarding their employer. And these are some comments regarding this question:

Question #2:
Do you feel that women are treated the same as men in the workplace? The results for the second question are: 23% of the women crossed yes and that means that they think that men and women are treated equally. 2% did not answer the question. 75% think that women and men are not treated equally. That can mean, men get more respect for their work than women. That can also mean that these women feel neglected. The risk is high that these women are leaving their employer. If high qualified women are leaving their jobs the employer has to find new workers. That costs a lot of money. Due to the demographic change it's not good for companies to lose workers. And these are some comments regarding this question:

Question #3:
Does media affect the image of women? The results for the first question are: 1% did not answer this question. 5% of women don't think that media affects the image of women but 94% feel that media has an affect on the image of women. That means there is a risk that women shown in the media are no role models. You get the feeling they don't work and if they have money you get the feeling it's their husband's money not their own. Most of the time you don't see working women or business women shown in the media. And these are some comments regarding this question:

Question #4:
Does toy marketing affect the way girls think about play? The results for the first question are: 78% women think yes. 14% of women think no and 7% did not answer the question. Girls might get a wrong idea about role models, working women and earning money if they always play with princesses. And that can affect the way girls are seeing themselves. It can also have an impact what kind of profession girls will choose when they are adults. And these are some comments regarding this question:
